At Balance Mobility we sell and hire out a range of aids and equipment to help you lead a more independent life. We’ll be opening our latest location in Biggera Waters shortly, but in the meantime all equipment is available for purchase or hire from our Tweed Heads store. You can pick-up what you need or we’ll deliver to your location, for as long as you need it.

For over 15 years, our family owned and operated store has been supporting people with all types of injuries and disabilities – whether they have a temporary or permanent impairment. We’re proud to help our veterans through the DVA’s Rehabilitation Appliance Program (RAP), those that need financial assistance through the Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme (MASS); and our aged care and rehab communities.

How do I choose the right mobility scooter for me?
When choosing a mobility scooter, there’s plenty to take into consideration. For starters, how do you intend to use it? Will it be your primary mode of transport, or something that you’ll be carrying in the boot of your car for use elsewhere? Then there’s the following to think about:

•Maximum distance between charges
•Weight capacity
•Speed & size
At Balance Mobility, we have a wide range of mobility scooters available to buy and can provide you with reliable advice on which will best suit your needs. If you’re not 100% sure, we also hire them out, so you can take one or two for a trial run before you make a decision.
How do I check eligibility for the Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme?
The Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme – aka MASS – makes funding available to eligible Queensland residents with permanent and stabilized condition or disability. The funding can be used to subsidise the permanent loan of medical aids and equipment; or to purchase these outright where you contribute more than 50% of the cost. To be eligible for funding, you’ll need to hold a pensioner concession card, health care card or senior’s card; and meet the clinical criteria for the aid or equipment you’re after. A MASS approved clinician will need to assess your condition, help you complete the application form and submit to MASS for approval.
